Mr. Donald "Butch" L. Transeau, Sr., 83, a long-time resident of Mosquito Valley, PA., died Saturday, July 1, 2023, at his daughter's home in Duboistown.
Butch was born on June 2, 1940, in Williamsport, PA. He was the son of the late Fred E. and Rosella N. Fritz Transeau.
Butch served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964.
He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved fishing, hunting, and walking in the mountains of Mosquito Valley. He was an Archer and enjoyed going to Maine for bear hunting.
After he retired, he became a Taxidermist; he had his own business (Don's Taxidermy) and was very creative and a true artist. He made his own bows and arrows. He loved Coon hunting.
Butch was a family man; he married his wife Joan in Maryland on January 11, 1963, and they were together for 61 years. He loved having his family over for Turkey dinners that he prepared. He also loved his fruit trees (apples and peaches.)
In addition to his wife, Joan R. Schmouder, he is survived by his three children Donald "Butch" Transeau, Jr. of Williamsport; his daughter Kim Transeau of Duboistown; and his daughter Stacey L. Metzger of Duboistown.
Also surviving are his four grandchildren Griffynn Metzger of Williamsport, PA., Ellie Metzger; Riley Carballo; and Emily Carballo, of Duboistown, PA. And his sister-in-law Irene of Texas.
In addition to his late parents, Butch is preceded in death by his sister Judy Welshans of Rauchtown, PA. And his brother Ken Transeau of Texas.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 7, 2023, starting at 5:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Ceremony at 6:30 pm at the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home. Rev. Mark D. Brumbach will officiate.
The family will provide the flowers.
