Joan Trusty Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 25, 2025.
Joan Elizabeth Trusty, 70, of Birmingham, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 17, 2025. A Celebration of Life will take place at Sanctuary Church on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10:30am.

Joan is survived by her husband, Scott Moore and her daughter Paige Moore (Chris Andersen) and her grandson, Brooks Andersen. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and 'Mimi' to Brooks. She was a trusted, loyal and caring friend to many.

Born in Walla Walla, Washington and later lived many of her formative years in Knoxville, Tennessee, Joan graduated from Stanford University and University of California, Los Angeles for law school. Joan was an accomplished attorney for over 40 years and was a pioneer for female lawyers as she was the first female lawyer hired by EDS. In addition to her extensive career, Joan was an avid gardener, interior decorator, traveler, reader, published author, teacher, mentor and leader. She traveled to all seven continents and found great joy in exploring the beautiful world around her. She was a faithful servant and member of Sanctuary Church in Birmingham, Michigan where she led a variety of bible study classes for different age groups, served in a variety of church leadership positions and skillfully led the updating of the church building and interiors. As Joan would say she lived an adventurous, and expansive, full life and found great joy in making things beautiful around her.

In lieu of flowers, Joans family asks for donations to be made in her name to Sanctuary Church's Building Maintenance Fund or Doctors Without Borders.
