Joan M. "McGuirk" Warnken

Brunswick - Joan M. Warnken, 90, died Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Joseph McGuirk and Olga Lasky McGuirk and wife of the late Jacob Warnken, Jr. She was raised in Troy and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Mildred Elley.

Joan was employed for several years at New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1999.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church Troy. Joan enjoyed cooking, baking and loved to be outdoors in her garden. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially on their many visits to Wells, Maine where Joan and Jake vacationed regularly for the past 50 years.
Survivors include her children, Lisa (Charlie) Helenek, Brian (Joan) Warnken and Tricia (Dann) Lammon; her grandchildren, Christopher (Elvia) Warnken, Andrew (Andrea) Helenek, Emma (Aaron) Lammon, Molly Warnken, Joshua Helenek, Abby Lammon and Maggie Helenek; a great grandson, Jacob Warnken; two sisters, Theresa Bulger and Carol (James) Constanza; a brother, Robert (Arlene) McGuirk and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
her daughter, Jody Warnken and her siblings, John and Sandra McGuirk.

Relatives and friends may call at the Sacred Heart Church 475 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery Troy.
