SCHAGHTICOKE -
It is with deep sadness that the family of William Ericsen announces his passing. Bill died Saturday, February 14, 2026 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, his daughter Heather (Sal) Piparo, and his granddaughter, Emily. He is also survived by his brother, David (Lynn) Ericsen, his sister, Toni (George) Mero and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Ericsen and his parents, Anthony and Leona Ericsen.
Bill graduated from Catholic Central High School, Maria College School of Nursing, and Thomas Edison College. He worked for many years at the Stratton VA Medical Center as a Registered Nurse.
He was a longtime communicant of Transfiguration Parish and most recently All Saints on the Hudson. He had a strong faith and always made time for daily prayers, reciting the Rosary and viewing daily Mass.
Bill was a lifetime member of the Colonie-Watervliet Elks Lodge. He was extremely proud to have served as Exalted Ruler.
He was an avid NY Yankees fan and rarely missed a televised game. Hopefully the Yankee channel is available in Heaven. Bill especially enjoyed attending Spring Training games in Tampa.
Bill and Kathy celebrated their 47th anniversary a few days before his passing.
The family would like to especially thank the staff of St. Peter’s Hospital ICU who treated him with compassion and dignity.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts. There will be no calling hours.
Contributions in Bill’s memory can be made to the Hemstreet Park Fire Department or the Hoosic Valley Rescue Squad.
