Sally Hogan Obituary

Hogan, Sally Manning
TROY - Sally M. Hogan, 93, passed away on Saturday February 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 25, 1932, in Troy, N.Y., the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Smith) Manning, and wife of the late William J. Hogan.
She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph's Grammar School and Catholic Central High School (1950) in Troy, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the former College of St. Rose (1954) in Albany.
Sally was employed by Catholic Charities, the former Portec, Inc, and held various positions within New York State government, retiring from the Department of Labor in 1998.
Sally always said that motherhood was her most cherished role. She was very proud to have been chosen as the winner of a "Mother of the Year" contest run by a local paper, having been nominated by her children. They, along with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were her pride and joy.
In addition to her family, she loved visiting with friends, trips to Cape Cod, lighthouses, reading, listening to music, her iPad, crossword puzzles, and of course, her favorite shows.
Sally was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church, in Troy, where she had been a choir member and a founding member of their Women's Guild. She was also a member of the group, The Beat Goes On, which was formed by survivors of sudden cardiac events.
She is survived by her children, Marie Hogan (William) Barhold, Troy, Joseph W, Hogan, Wynantskill, Terrie A. Weber, Wynantskill, Daniel P. (Joellen Brennan), Albany, Matthew J. (Sandra) Hogan, Troy; her grandchildren, Kaila Weber, Chelsea (Brian) Dollard, Ashleigh (Alex) Lynch, Sarah Barhold, Jack Zecca, Ciarra Hogan, Tyler Zecca, William Hogan, Bailey Hogan, and Madison Hogan; her great-grandchildren, Oliver and Adelaide Dollard; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and their spouses, Richard (Loretta) and Thomas (Virginia) Manning. She cherished her friendship with her bonus son, Jerry (Mary) Foti; and grandson, Vincent Foti; along with her dear friend and neighbor, Carol Larkin.

So sorry to read of Sally's passing. Many years as a classmate and friend at St Joseph's School and CCHS on 8th Street. Sally, friendly, happy, smart girl. Met several times at reunions. Always gracious and same as she always was. I have been out of South Troy, living in Essex Junction, VT since 1960. Sometimes visited and checked out St Joseph's Church. Few times I was fortunate and met some good folks from the neighborhood and school. Will always miss those Good People. Sally and family will be in my prayers. God Bless all! -- Tommy Halpin of South Troy.
