Joan Patricia Wolfert, age 80, a resident of Ray Twp, Michigan since 1990, passed away May 29, 2025 at Regency, in Shelby Twp, Michigan. Joan was born May 19, 1945 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, the daughter of Alfred and Estelle (Kavanagh) Roland. After graduating, Joan worked to help support her family but ultimately was able to become a full time homemaker dedicating her life to raising and caring for her family. Joan was best known for her quirkiness, quick wit and love for her family. She enjoyed traveling, painting, gardening, and being in nature.
Joan is survived by her husband Klaus of 54 years. Her children, Heidi Wolfert of Shelby Twp, Teresa (Corey) Drayer of Shelby Twp., Sherry Salazar of Colorado. Joan’s siblings, Carol Godfrey, and Paul Roland, Faith Davis, and Hilary DePolo. Granddaughter, Joyce Drayer.
Preceded by her parents Alfred and Estelle Roland, daughter Patti Wolfert, stepdad Bruno DePolo, brother Timothy Roland, also Barbara D. Kunzmann (Albert), Sheila D. Barton (Robert), Gregory B. DePolo (Sally Vicary). Joan’s daughters and husband would like to thank the staff at Heart to Heart Hospice and Regency at Shelby Twp for their support and care these past months.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 3-7 pm
Funeral Service will begin at 6pm, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://www.alz.org/
