Joan Margaret Zigray, age 87, of Maumee, Ohio passed away August 24, 2023 at The Elizabeth Scott Community. She was born June 5, 1936 in Toledo to Mary and Emery Biro. Joan graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1954 and from Mary Manse College in 1958 with an Education Degree. Joan married the love of her life, Frank, and worked for a short time as a teacher, but settled into life as a mother and homemaker after her children were born. She was always involved with her children's activities and took great joy in their lives, especially once her beloved grandchildren were born. Joan also was accompanied through her life by her dear twin sister, Jean. They had so much fun together doing "twin things", and took great joy in their humorous experiences of being mistaken for each other. Later in her life, Joan began cross-country skiing and spent many happy times Up North in Michigan; she loved Petosky and Harbor Springs and traveled there regularly, but the most important part of her life was her family and her husband of 62 years, Frank.

She is survived by her children, Ellyn (Ron) Siebenaler, Dan Zigray and Ann (Kevin) Heban; grandchildren, Ron and Lauren Siebenaler, Kenny and Alex Heban, Kirsi (Mitch) Cochell, and Julia and Steven Zigray; beloved twin sister, Jean Biro; brothers-in-law, Andrew "Bud"(Theresa) Zigray, Joe (Janice) Zigray, and Tom (Connie) Zigray; Joan was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Andrew and Mary Zigray; older brother, Emery (Beth) Biro II; sister, Maryann Biro; and brother-in-law, Robert (Dolores) Zigray.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH, and will be followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow later in the day at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church or to Epiphany of the Lord Parish (St Stephens).
