Joann Abney-Smith

Joann Abney-Smith passed away, Thursday afternoon, June 1, 2023 after a lengthy illness surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be Sunday June 4, 2023 at Union Chapel 5500 Marion Road Macon, Ga. 31217 at 2:00 P.M., with a visitation to follow for family and ;friends. Rev Eric Abney will officiate.
Joann was born on March 6, 1952 to the late James Junior Abney and Jessie Mae Padgett Sorrow. In addition to her parents, her brother, William Abney, sister, Betty Abney-Tucker, granddaughter, Madelynn Bowden, and grandson Ryder James Bowden preceded her in death.
Joann was retired from the Medical Center of Central Georgia. She loved to travel and enjoyed the opportunity to live in many places. Joann was an outgoing fun loving Mom that introduced her boys to many and asunder experiences. She will be deeply missed.
Her memory will be for ever cherished by her sons, Rodney (Bair) Bowden, and their child Levi, Dwayne (Denise) Bowden and their children, Dustin, Leighann Bowden, and Ashley Thomas. sister, Wanda Biddick, and brother, J.M. Abney.
