Joann Collins Obituary

Grovetown, GA – Entered into rest on Monday, March 9, 2026, Joann Pinkston Collins, 81, loving wife of Charles Collins.

A giving and loving mother and cat lover, Joann worked over twenty years as a food service worker in school lunchrooms with the Richmond County Board of Education. She spent ten years on the road with her husband Charles. Joann was a woman of strong faith and loved God.

In addition to her husband, her family members include her daughter: Mitzie Owens (Tommy Stanford); son: Frank James Owens (Donna); daughter: Charlene Black (Steven); son: Charles Collins, Jr. (Kimberly Crouch); grandchildren: Brett Collins (Ashley), Christopher Kimmel (Amber), Kevin Kimmel, Dillon Owens (Taylor), and Josh Owens (Kayla); great-grandchildren: Leland Owens, Bella Owens, Bristol Patterson, Lindsey Kimmel, Melody Kimmel, Bailey Kimmel, Jadyn Collins, Savannah Collins, and Ally Green.

The family would like to express deep gratitude to Angie Brown who provided loving care to Joann during the last year of her life. The family would also like to thank Piedmont Hospital and Doctors Hospital ICU unit.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son.
