Mrs. JoAnn Francis Isaacs Brown, 82, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Five Oaks Manor in Concord, NC.
She was born to the late Joseph “Joe” William Isaacs and Juanita Colvard Isaacs on May 1, 1941, in Watauga County, NC.
JoAnn loved her family, and they loved her. She was proud of her sons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She and Lindsay were active in the Wallburg, NC community where they lived. She was involved and served in several churches: Sprague Street Baptist, Oaklawn Baptist, and Vernon Forest Baptist Church. In addition, JoAnn supported Lindsay as volunteers with the Gumtree Volunteer Fire Department. Over the years, JoAnn had many hobbies: candy making, ceramics, knitting, and more. She loved her neighbors and friends and spent countless hours serving and giving to others. Her faith was very important to her, and during times of challenge, hardship, happiness, and loss, she found her strength in the Lord.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Lindsay Herbert Brown; and her loving In-laws, Gillis Herbert Brown and Lottie May Lindsay Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Dr. Robert “Boomer” (Lisa) Brown and Mark A. (Gina) Brown; four grandchildren, Jordan Tinnell (Jason), Taylor Adcock (Brady), Chase Brown, and Sawyer Brown; brother, Jerry (Mary) Isaacs; and three great-grandchildren, Hadley Tinnell, Raymie Adcock and Oaks Adcock.
A funeral service will be held for JoAnn on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Oaklawn Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park.
