JoAnn Strickland Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication to her family and community. She was born on September 10, 1941, in Lake Worth, Florida, to her father, Gillis Strickland, and birth mother, Linnie Mae Anderson. She was lovingly raised by her stepmother, Bonnie Strickland.

JoAnn was known to many simply as "Mom," "Meme," "Grandma," "Nana," "Neighbor," or "Friend." She cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. JoAnn also touched countless lives through her hard work, community service, kindness, and welcoming spirit.

JoAnn's career spanned nearly 49 years as a contract driver with Kuhn's Flowers, more than 10 years as an event coordinator with the Florida Theatre, Jacksonville Symphony, and Starry Nights at Metropolitan Park, and later as a meet-and-greet representative with Carey Transportation. She also served faithfully as a volunteer precinct coordinator for more than a decade, covering Precinct 7X on Dunn Avenue during election season.

Beyond her work, JoAnn loved to cook, host family gatherings, and tend to her garden. Her yard overflowed with flowers of all kinds, especially her favorite-hydrangeas.

In JoAnn's eyes, family went beyond blood she embraced many others as her own, extending her love generously to all who entered her life.

JoAnn will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and unwavering love. She built a life full of family, flowers, and faith in her community. Her memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson; son, Steve Johnson; stepson, Terry Johnson; brothers, Terrell Strickland and Richard Strickland; sisters, Melba Hayes, Frances Williams, and Maxine Walker; grandson, Michael Baldwin; and great granddaughter, Reese Baldwin.

JoAnn is survived by her devoted daughters, Lesa Mitchell (Anthony) and Denise Dilmuth (John); extended family, Vicky Baldwin (Walter); stepsons, Robert Johnson (Lynne), James Larry Johnson, Sr. (Connie); and sister, Linda Peek (Sam); grandchildren, John Dilmuth (Nicole), Michael Mitchell (Lina), Scotty Dilmuth (Tori), Melissa Mitchell, Brandy Edwards (Kyle), Tegan Johnson, Tori Johnson, Edward Johnson (Brenda), Angel Johnson, TJ Johnson, Sean Johnson, James Johnson, Larry Johnson (Ashley), Cathy Cope (Chris), Christina Bustamante (Raul) and Bubba Baldwin (Latessa); great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, Hailey, Ella, Zoey, Kayden, Mattie, Zeke, Maura, McKenzie, Ava, Waylon, Kai, Kensley, Michael, Jr., Alexis, JC, Lourice, Michaela, Madison, Zhachory, Alexyss, Ethan, JC, Maddox, Zac, Zoey, Sean, Angel, TJ, Payton, Drake, Jayden, Dalyec, Scotty, Remy, Logan, Patrick, Timmy, Sydney and Raul.
