Joann Marie McGlynn-Mooney

Joann Marie McGlynn-Mooney 70 of Pocono Manor passed away Tuesday morning December 10, 2024, at her home in Pocono Manor.
Born in Bronx New York on November 11, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Jospeh and Marie (Gilburn) McGlynn. Joann graduated from Academy of Mount St. Ursula in the Bronx, New York and continued her education at the Bronx Community College Bronx, New York where she earned her registered nurse degree. Joann had a lengthy nursing career and served as a nurse for the New York State Health Department, the New York Public School System and for several hospitals in the New York City area until she retired.
She was of the Catholic faith and loved and was proud of her Irish heritage. She loved her cats and enjoyed feeding the deer at her home. Joann also loved food and having good conversations with like-minded people.
Surviving is her husband, Paul "Ernie" Mooney of Woodside, New York, brother, Thomas McGlynn of New York and friends and caretakers, Michele Frakt and Benny Slane with whom she resided in Pocono Manor and extended family members.
A viewing will be held on Friday December 13, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. in the Yanac Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono. A Catholic prayer service will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. Interment will be held at a later date.
