JoAnn Miller passed peacefully in her sleep on February 10, 2026 at her home.
JoAnn or Nana as she was known to most was born on September 25, 1945 in Houston, TX to William Gilbert Ray and Clara Christine Jones Ray. She was the youngest of four children. JoAnn lived in the Houston area her entire life and attended Sam Houston High School where she graduated in the summer of 1963.
JoAnn started her first job out of high school at Houston Light & Power. She worked there until she became a devoted stay at home mom when her first son Robert was born in 1967. Jeff her second son was born in 1972 adding to her enjoyment of being a mom.
She eventually starting selling Avon cosmetics and excelled in it. If you knew JoAnn, you know she genuinely cared for people and she loved to talk which made her a great salesperson. She earned numerous awards and had many opportunities to travel to some exciting destinations because of her accomplishments in sales with Avon.
JoAnn loved cooking, entertaining, playing games, and watching Aggie football. She was their biggest fan. Most of all JoAnn loved God, her family and friends. She was an active member at WoodsEdge Community Church where she was a greeter for many years. She never met a stranger and she always livened up the party. She loved BIG, cared MUCH and was loved by so many.
JoAnn is survived by her brother Richard Ray, son Robert and wife Tami, grandson Ryan and wife Kristen, grandson Tyler and wife Kinsey, granddaughter Brooke and wife Madison, grandson Bryan and great grandchildren Audrey, Asher and Beckett.
Services will be held at WoodsEdge Community Church Student Building on February 28th, at 11:00am. A reception will follow the service. Flowers can be sent to the church.
