Joann Moran Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin & Hightower Funeral Home - Carrollton on Feb. 5, 2026.
Joann Parker Moran, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, devotion, and quiet kindness that touched all who knew her. Born on September 12, 1947, in Illinois, Joann carried a deep appreciation for family, home, and the simple beauty of everyday moments.

For Joann, family was always at the center of her world. A devoted homemaker, she poured her heart into raising her children: her son, Dennis Michael Moran II; her daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Joseph Merritt, Mellissa Moran, and Samantha and Anthony Ellisson; and son-in-law, Dale Stephens, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her greatest joy came in her role as "Grandma," where she lovingly cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring every hug, every visit, and every opportunity to make memories that will now be cherished for generations.

Joann was known for her generous heart and gentle spirit. She never hesitated to help someone in need, offer encouragement, or simply listen. Friends and family alike knew they could always count on her kindness. In quiet moments, she found peace in tending to her garden, nurturing flowers and plants with the same patience and care she gave to the people she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonathan and Louise Parker; her beloved husband, Dennis Michael "Moe" Moran; and her sister, Lucy Fuller.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Following the visitation, her body will be cremated.

Though she will be deeply missed, Joann's love, compassion, and countless small acts of kindness throughout her life will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Moran family.
