JoAnn Kristine "Jody" Mork

JoAnn Kristine "Jody" Mork, 82, passed away peacefully November 8, 2025, surrounded by family, at Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, Washington after a quiet and courageous battle with cancer.

Jody was born on April 4, 1943, in Seattle, Washington, to Percy and Olga Johnson. She was raised in Bellingham and was a proud Class of 1961 Bellingham High School Red Raider. Jody began her career as a dental assistant, later worked at the Westside Record Journal, and went on to serve as an office manager in several local dental practices.

After high school, Jody met Jim Mork and they were married on May 18, 1963 - a marriage that lasted over six decades and was a true partnership rooted in faith and family. They lived in Texas while Jim was in the service, and then moved back to Whatcom County and raised their family in Ferndale. Jody poured her heart into raising her two children, Trevor and Trina, always supporting their activities and dreams with unconditional love. Later in life, she found immense happiness as a grandmother to Megan and Jaxson, who brought so much joy and love into her world.

Jody joined the international Beta Sigma Phi in 1962 and cherished the lifelong friendships she built with her sorority sisters. During the last 10 years she enjoyed her time volunteering with the Assistance League of Bellingham.

Jim and Jody shared countless adventures, including spending the past 20+ winters as "snowbirds" in Palm Desert. Jody loved being in the sun and treasured her time near the ocean and in the desert. She is remembered for her bright smile, her famous lemon dessert, and her ability to make everyone feel loved and welcome. She had so many close friends and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Mork; her two children, Trevor Mork of Kihei, Hawaii and Trina (Tim) Hall of Bellingham, and her two grandchildren, Megan and Jaxson Hall. She is also survived by her sweet cousins, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and numerous close friends who were like family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Olga Johnson, and her two brothers, Bill Johnson and Jack Johnson.

A memorial service will be held on November 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Greenacres Funeral Home, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Whatcom Hospice House or the Assistance League of Bellingham, in Jody's memory.
