JoAnn Newingham Obituary
She was born August 4, 1939, in Peoria, to Harold Charles and Cora (Rogers) Kreps. JoAnn married Bernard "Bernie" Newingham in 1979 in East Peoria, Illinois.
Surviving are her husband, Bernie of Washington; children, Scott (Julie) Leach of Peoria, Kevin Leach of East Peoria and Kristine Leach-Durham of Peoria; step-daughters, Patsy Sherman of Peoria, Charlotte (Mike) Baker of Peoria and Julie Wright of Peoria; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and sister, Romona Kalb of Washington.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Carol Durham, Lorna Fields and Nancy Bailey.
Jo worked for Caterpillar for 30 years, retiring in 1995.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Steve Weber officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
Memorials may be made to Eastside Bible Church in Morton.
