VICKY LEA NEWINGHAM

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vicky Lea (Hedrick) Newingham on March 1, 2026 at the age of 70. Vicky was born and raised in Butler, Pennsylvania, she moved to Daytona Beach, Florida where she spent many years, then moved to her home in Pierson that she enjoyed. Vicky was the daughter of Harley Paul Hedrick and Opal Edna (Bennett) Marshall. Vicky attended elementary and high school in Butler, Pennsylvania she continued her education online and received her Master's degree and was working on her PhD.

Rick was by her side the last four years as she fought stage four liver cancer. Vicky spent many years as a teaching assistant with Volusia County School in Pierson, she was very proud to be able to give her time being with the children. She taught online college classes many years and formed close friendships with many students.

Her memory will be cherished by her devoted and loving husband, Roderick (Rick) Newingham, she married Roderick on July 10, 1983; son, Alan Paul Newingham and his wife Wynn of Daytona Beach, Florida; daughter Bobbi Jean Newingham of Port Orange, Florida; sisters, Sonya Pearson of Fort White, Florida, Dawn Lewis, and her husband Arthur (Jack) of Pierson, Florida; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, father Harley Paul Hedrick, who passed away Sept. 18, 2015; mother Opal Marshall, who passed away April 5, 2019; brother Stanley Marshall, who passed away June 12, 2024; daughters Tammy Lynn Newingham, who passed away October 21, 2010 and Angela Dawn (Mattocks) Yacko, who passed away March 18, 2024.

There will be a private family Celebration of Life at her sister Dawn's on March 21, 2026 at 12:00pm. If you plan to attend, please notify the family for an attendance headcount.
