JoAnn (Lane) Niblack, born to Roy E. Lane and Imogene (Gothard) Lane, on August 29, 1942, in Battle Creek, Michigan, loving wife of Richard L. Niblack passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at Centrica Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo, Michigan. JoAnn graduated from Lakeview High School in 1960. While in high school she also went to beauty school for Cosmetology and married the love of her life Richard Niblack on September 3, 1960. She worked in multiple hair salons throughout the 60’s and 70’s including Ferraris in Battle Creek. Later she had a salon at home while her daughters Kim and Stacey were in school. After JoAnn and Dick became empty nesters, JoAnn went back to school and became an instructor at Ferraris School of Cosmetology. She was creative and enjoyed working with the young people she was teaching. Upon retirement JoAnn enjoyed traveling with her husband to Florida, Oregon and on multiple cruises. Upon Richard’s passing on April 20, 2008, JoAnn remained independent. She enjoyed planning projects for her house, learning new technology and her Mondays were always scheduled for the PNA and the Dice Girls. She looked forward to her Friday, Friends and Company lunch and was always thankful for her friends and ladies that would drive her, Vicki and Nancy, so she could get out of the house. JoAnn enjoyed having her coffee and cookie phone calls with her special sister-in-law Norma Lane Ryan. JoAnn is survived by her daughter Kim and Tom Koons of Galesburg, Michigan, grandson Jared Koons of Kalamazoo, daughter Stacey Niblack and Andreas May and granddaughter Olivia May. She was loved by so many nieces, cousins and family members that she felt fortunate for them being in her life. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2025 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Centrica Rose Arbor Place. www.henryfuneralhome.org
