JoAnn Ondeyko

JoAnn Ondeyko, age 76, of Hopelawn, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, in North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Linden, JoAnn spent most of her life in Hopelawn, where she lovingly devoted herself to her home and family. A talented homemaker, she found joy in arts and crafts and was well known for her exceptional skills in the kitchen-both as a baker and a cook.

JoAnn was a devoted mother to her three sons and a cherished friend to many. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others touched everyone she met. She was everyone's mother. She always had open arms to anyone who needed her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

JoAnn was predeceased by her husband George Ondeyko Jr., her son George Ondeyko III, her father Andrew Erli, her mother Carmella Renda Erli as well as her sister Marlene Lestuck. She is survived by her son & their spouses James & Sue Ellen Ondeyko and Jonathan & Kathleen Ondeyko, her grandchildren James Jr, Jacob, Justin, Kylie, Brianna, Summer, Savanah, and George IV, Brooke and Logan, her great-grandchildren Freya, Baker, Valorie, Carter, Blake and Masion, her siblings Andrew and Steven Erli, and her sisters Kathleen Felipe and Lisa Petz and many nieces and nephews.

A prayer service will begin at 10:30am on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at GERITY & CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge followed by interment at Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Relatives and friends may begin arriving to the funeral home at 9:30am.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
