Jo Ann Marie Paules died Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the age of 92 peacefully in her home.
She was born on July 22, 1930 in Susank, Kansas. She grew up with her parents in Abilene, Kansas and graduated from Abilene High School in 1948. She worked at the Eisenhower Home where she met and then later married her husband John on April 14, 1950. They lived in many places during John s career in the Army such as Germany, Spain, Panama and Washington. In 1995 they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon.
Jo Ann loved spending time with family and was a stay-at-home Mom for many years. She began sharing her love for stained glass by working at the Mandarin-Stained Glass by teaching classes in Lakewood, WA.
She loved her birds, Sugar and Cookie. Sugar kept her company by following her around the house, talking to her, and watching Jeopardy every day for many years. She had a strong faith as a Jehovah s Witness and cherished her close friendships. She loved baking, traveling, skiing, puzzles, sewing, tole painting, and creating a variety of stained-glass fixtures.
Surviving children: David Paules lives in Everett, WA and Sarah Frye lives in Lakewood, WA.
Preceded in death by: John Paules-husband, Greg Paules-son, Christina Bryner-daughter, Jason Frye-grandson and Justin Bryner-grandson.
Mom taught us all what is really important in life; to love God with your all, and to love, support, and care for friends and family. We are all better off having known her. It was a great privilege to be her children.
She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.
