Joann Schatz Obituary
Joann was a friend of nature and a lover of cats. She a very independent free spirit who had a surprising amount of knowledge about cars. She was employed for many years as a Greenhouse worker and in businesses accounting. Joann had a witty sense of humor and an exquisite taste in the things she collected. She was a prolific poet whose penmanship was awesome.
Joann is survived by her siblings Gary (Joanne) Van Iwaarden of Lakewood, CO, Sharon Etheridge of Grand Rapids, MI, Judy (Don) Haugland of Everett, WA, Kay Lynn (Ed) Schans of Lakewood, CO, Bob (Carol) Van Iwaarden of Alamosa, CO, Gwen Powell of Glenrock, WY, Mike (Eileen) Van Iwaarden of Alamosa, Georgia Van Iwaarden of Antonito, CO, John Van Iwaarden of Alamosa, CO, and Steve (Karen) Van Iwaarden of Alamosa, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Joann is preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation was chosen and services will be held at a later date.
