Joann Lee Springer, 95, of Sebring, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026.
Born on September 2, 1930, in Upshur County, West Virginia, Joann was the daughter of Forrest and Bernice (Bond) Maxson. Joann earned her Master's Degree in Education and became a public school teacher for Broward, Hardee, Lake, and Putnam counties, while also serving her community with compassion as a Lay Pastor for the town of Webster, Florida. Joann looked forward to fulfilling her role as an officer on the United Methodist Women's Board. In her downtime, Joann enjoyed completing countless crossword puzzles, reading her Bible and many other books.
Joann was a devoted wife to Reverend John F. Springer, until his passing in 2017. She was an amazing mother, and grandmother, and always looked forward to spending time with her family.
Joann is survived by her son, David Springer, and daughter, Joyce Hands, and sister, Dorothy. Leaving to cherish her memory are 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Adam and Monica Hands & Stephanie and Stacie Springer, as well as 2 great-grandchildren. Joann was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rev John F Springer, and eldest son, Steve Springer who passed in 2019.
Funeral services for Joann Lee Springer will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at St. John Methodist Church, 33631 Grand Prix Drive, Sebring, Florida. A public visitation with friends and family will begin at 11:00 a.m. Services will be livestreamed via St John Methodist Church, the link to access Joann's service online can be found here: www.stjohnsebring.org Joann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
