Joann Vigil Obituary
Joann "Jojo" Rufina Vigil Devoted mother & foster parent Joann Rufina Vigil, 86, died Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 at her Brighton home with her family & friends by her side. Joann was born August 20, 1937 in San Luis, CO., to Albert and Palmiria Aragon. Joann loved crocheting, cooking, taking care of her home and most of all taking care of others. In 8th grade she left school in order to help her mom and dad at home, being the second oldest of 7 siblings. Joann married Joseph Anecito Vigil on April 21, 1956. The two were each other's lifelong companions and friends. They were blessed with seven children and 32 Foster children. She was an avid reader and believer in God, as she prayed her rosary every night and always made it her mission to go to church every Sunday morning. She loved to spend time with her family and most of all her grandchildren. Joann is survived by her children, Cindy, Connie (Nick), Cathy (Rick), Chato (Gina), Rick (Maria), Michael & Isaiah; 20 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father & mother, Albert & Palmiria; brothers Delores, Arthur, sister Becky, grandson Julian Gonzales and great-granddaughter Arianna.. Joann will be especially remembered for her fierce heart and her beautiful spirit that served to strengthen everyone she met. Viewing will be Friday April, 19, at 2 p.m., rosary at 2:30 p.m. and funeral services at 3:30 p.m. Tabor Rice Funeral Home, 75 S 13th Ave, Brighton, CO 80601.
