Joanna L. Brown

Joanna Lynn Brown, 53, of West Leechburg, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. She was born on March 22, 1972, in New Kensington. Joanna was a graduate of Valley High School and New Kensington Commercial School. She then did an internship with the Social Security Administration for a few years. Joanna then worked for 16 years for Sampco in Cheswick. She was proud of her real (not fake) fingernails that she polished differently every day and her hair, which was always done perfectly. Joanna loved to read, enjoyed going to bingo, playing slot games on her phone, and going camping. She will be remembered for her kindness and warm spirit and for her love and support for her family, always being the quiet strength and having a positive outlook. Joanna was a fighter and never gave up. She loved her pets, who will really miss her: Wiat, her cat, and Bugsi, her dog. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Theodora Troutman; and aunt, Phyllis Troutman. Joanna is survived by her mother, who raised her, Bobbie Troutman Wassberg; significant other of 27 years, Dean Byers; three brothers, Michael Robert Brown, David Patrick Brown, and Robert Allen Brown; nephew, Nicholas Andrew Brown; aunts and uncles, James and Betty Sadecky and David and Nancy Troutman; and a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
