Joanna Iazzetti Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 16, 2024.
Joanna Margaret Iazzetti, 85, of DeLand, Florida, passed away on October 7, 2024 in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was born on March 25, 1939 in Bronx, New York.
Joanna was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Joseph Iazzetti. She is survived by her sons Michael, Keith, and Anthony Iazzetti; daughter-in-law and best friend Amy Nicole Moore; daughter Jeanine Iazzetti; and grandchildren "Little"Michael Iazzetti and Hailey Dormire. Joanna was also cherished by her "grand-wieners" Sebastian, Dora, Dash, and Lila. She was predeceased by her parents, Jennie Martone Paesano and Alfonso Paesano, and daughter-in-law Catherine Iazzetti.
Joanna grew up in the Bronx, where she made lifelong memories with friends Nina, Marie, Rosie, and Carole. She loved visiting the Bronx Zoo, Arthur Ave, and church, and had fond memories of going to the beach with her aunts Dora and Lucy. At 18, she started working for AT&T. After a memorable trip to Florida, she began dating Ronald Iazzetti, and they married on October 7, 1962. In a poignant turn, Joanna passed away on their wedding anniversary, which adds a romantic and touching significance to the date.
Joanna was a dedicated volunteer at St. Brendan's Catholic Church, where she helped with Sunday school. Later in life, she crocheted blankets for the elderly with a volunteer group at St. Peter's Catholic Church. She loved baking and family trips to St. Augustine. In her later years, she enjoyed getting her nails and hair done, watching movies, dancing and spending time with her family and dachshunds.
A devout Catholic, Joanna had a deep love for the Blessed Mother. Her final years were spent being lovingly cared for by her son Anthony, daughter-in-law Amy, and son Keith.
The family will announce details for the memorial service at a later date.
