JoAnne passed away on March 14,2024 at the age of 77 in Ogden Utah. She has now joined her son Jeffery Amidan.
JoAnne was born to Seth James Matthews and Jacqueline Ines Barrett on December 28, 1947 in Ogden Utah. Seth and Jacqueline were later divorced. JoAnne was raised by her dad and her beloved grandmother Alta Matthews.
JoAnne married Reed Robert Amidan on January 19, 1966 in Sparks Nevada.
JoAnne worked in the food industry the majority of her life. She loved and enjoyed the work she did dearly. She cherished her customers and quickly formed many life long friends with most of her customers. JoAnne loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. The yearly Deer Hunt was a huge deal to her. It was a large gathering of family and friends. Joanne was a natural caretaker and always wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of. JoAnne loved her family deeply. She cherished time spent with family. JoAnne loved music and dancing. She was always on the go. JoAnne loved to see new things and most of all she loved shopping.
JoAnne was a very strong willed person and independent. She loved handling everything on her own.
A special thank you goes out to Guy and Melissa. Thank you for the friendship you shared with mom. Thank you for being there and checking in on mom. She valued your friendship.
JoAnne is Survived in Death by: Daughter Jamie (Chad) Hillan. Son Mathew (Brandy) Amidan. Joanne had 7 grandchildren. Casey(Aja) Hess, Nicholas Hess (Sandy), Ely Amidan, Brinlee Amidan, Landon Amidan, Tyson Amidan. David (Hillary) Amidan, JoAnne had 6 great grandchildren. CayLiegh Jo Hess, Kamin LaRee Hess, Kairi Lynn Hess, Bryson Amidan, Austin Amidan, Kaden Amidan.
JoAnne was preceded in death by Seth James Matthews (Dad), Jacqueline Barrett (Mother), Alta Matthews (Grandmother) Earl Matthews (Grandfather), Reed Amidan (Husband), Jeff Amidan (Son), RaeDean Phillips (Sister), Cristie Tomsin (Niece).
A celebration of life will be held in honor of JoAnne on Friday March 22nd, 2024 at NorthView Senior Center. Located at 485 East 2550 North Ogden Utah 84414. Friends and Family may attend between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
