Joanne R. Budny, a beloved educator, cherished mother and grandmother, and devoted wife passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on May 4, 1953, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, to Lt. Col. James M. Regan and Marjorie Regan, Joanne spent her life making a difference in the lives of others through her vibrant personality and the deep love and commitment she had to her family, friends, and loved ones.

Joanne's career as a teacher began in 1975. She taught for Pennsbury School District in Fallsington, Pennsylvania; Clear Creek County School District in Idaho Springs, Colorado; Summit County Regional School District in Frisco, Colorado; and Hopewell Valley School District in Pennington, New Jersey. Her impactful journey in education culminated at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in St. Charles, Missouri, where she served as both an educator and the Director of Students from 1995 until 2020.

Beyond her professional achievements, Joanne’s heart truly belonged to her family. She and her husband, Tom, adored one another. Their 43-year marriage was built on deep devotion, genuine friendship, and true love. No matter the circumstances, they found laughter and pure happiness simply being together.

As a mother, Joanne was nurturing, loving, and understanding. She was always there to offer a listening ear and words of encouragement. She shared in her daughters' joys and comforted them in their disappointments.

Joanne loved being a grandma. Simply watching her granddaughter play or hearing stories about her brought her endless amusement. She was overjoyed about the upcoming birth of her grandson, who was born shortly after Joanne's passing.

She is survived by her loving husband Tom, daughters Caitlin Brown and Elizabeth Robbins, sons-in-law Josh Brown and Jeremy Robbins, granddaughter Avery Robbins, grandson Parker Robbins, sister Kay Estock, brother-in-law John Estock, and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.

Joanne was truly one of a kind. She had a playful and lively spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor. Joanne radiated warmth and kindness, effortlessly connecting with others. Always remembering birthdays, holidays, and special occasions, she constantly sought to make those around her feel special and cared for. Joanne will be deeply missed, but forever touched by those who were fortunate to know her and love her.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Academy of the Sacred Heart in St. Charles, Missouri.
