Joanne Margaret Columbo (nee Sherman), passed away peacefully Sunday April 13, 2025, at Safe Haven Elder Care, Avon Lake at the age of 88.
Joanne was born in Cleveland, and grew up in Garfield Heights. She married Guiseppi Columbo in 1955 and together they lived in Walton Hills raising their three children and dog Jojo. In 1995 she and her husband built their dream home and moved to Naples, Florida. She enjoyed hosting family and friends, swimming at the beach, and gardening. She was skilled in pottery, sewing and painting. She especially enjoyed going on cruises and traveling with her husband.
She was an active member of the Orchards Community, and a member of the Italian American Club in Naples, FL.
Survivors include her children Mary Jo (Jim) Zahradnacek of Seville, son Joseph Columbo (Caroline) of Sarasota,FL and Jo Lynn (Mike) Mytnick of N. Ridgeville, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, sister Margie Fike of SC, and sister-in-law Patricia Sherman of Quincy, MA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Guiseppi, parents, Clyde and Mildred Sherman, sister Nancy, and brother Clyde Sherman.
Joanne will be laid to rest with her husband at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
