Joanne (DuPuis) Lottes Obituary

Joanne C. (DuPuis) Lottes, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at LakeHouse.
She was born at St. Clare Hospital, Baraboo, on Aug. 5, 1931, a twin daughter of Edmund J. and Theodora Elinore (Leonard) DuPuis. Following her mother's early death, Joanne was raised by her father, and the only mother she ever knew, Alice S. (Moyes) DuPuis. Joanne grew up in Baraboo with her three sisters and five brothers.
After graduating from high school, she moved with two of her sisters to Madison. They enjoyed living and working in Madison in the early 1950s. There, she met James J. Lottes, and they married on June 25, 1955 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Baraboo. He preceded her in death in 2010.
Joanne was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish and the St. Francis Xavier Council of Catholic Women; and was a resolute volunteer for many years for the St. Vincent De Paul Society. For the past three years Joanne was a resident of LakeHouse and prior to that lived at Trinity Pines Retirement Center, both in Lake Mills.
Joanne is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (John) Wittwer, Lake Mills; two sons, David (Anna) Lottes, Waukesha; and John Lottes, Milwaukee. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Adria (Sean) Corcoran, Eric Wittwer, Sarah (Ian) Johanson, Maggie Lottes, and Joseph (Emily) Lottes-Paukner; her great grandchildren, Felicity Corcoran, Elise Corcoran, and Charley Anne Johanson, and two others soon to be born; her sister Mary Dunwell, Canutillo, Texas; sisters-in-law Nola DuPuis, Madison; Gwen Kraemer, Plain; Jeanne DuPuis, Eau Claire; brother-in-law John Goodell, Baraboo; three generations of nieces and nephews, and several dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her in-laws George and Elizabeth Lottes; Phil and Winnie Lacy; two grandchildren, Emma Lottes and Alex Lottes; her siblings and their spouses: Eddie (Alice), LaVern (Carolyn), Rollie, her twin Jeanne (Paul) von Allmen, David DuPuis, Duane Kraemer, and Patricia Goodell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Mills.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the Claussen Funeral Home in Lake Mills and also after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Catechetical Center until procession to the church for mass.
Private family burial will be at Rock Lake Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Therese of Lisieux Parish or Rainbow Community Care.
The family expresses profound gratitude to: our parish priests for the sacramental graces, nurses Laura and Tricia, Rainbow Community Care, and the entire staff of LakeHouse for their exceptional compassion and loving care of Joanne.
