Joanne Margery (Dunn) Haiderer
Passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at her home in Wellspring Independent Living in Saginaw.
She was born January 31, 1924, the daughter of the late James and Selma Dunn and lived for 100 years in Saginaw Township. Joanne was a part of the greatest generation that experienced challenges including the Great Depression and World Wars I and II and was truly resilient. Joanne loved life, spending time with her family and friends. She loved playing cards, golf, and bowling and remained very active throughout her life.
Joanne was baptized in February of 1924 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Saginaw. She was confirmed on March 21, 1937. Her confirmation verse was Revelations 2:10 (KJV) "Be thou faithful unto death and I will give you crown of life." Joanne has been a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Saginaw since 1940. She was a registered nurse who worked in hospitals and private offices, and at an automotive plant for many years.
Joanne married Edwin Haiderer on May 16, 1953, and they were married for 43 years until his death on June 11, 1996. They raised three wonderful children, Judy, David, and Donald who were obedient and remained faithful to the Lord. Joanne married Edward Byrski on April 28, 2001, and was married for an additional 10 years until his death.
Joanne is survived by her daughter Judy (Mike) Barnes and their children: Katie (Mark) Ridenour and their son, Nolan; Ken (Kara) Barnes and their daughter Mikayla and sons Ethan and Landon; Lisa (Randy) Larson and their daughter Isabella and sons Joshua, David, and Conor; Becky (Caleb) Seder and their daughter Mila and son Leo. Joanne is survived by her son Dr. Donald (Becky) Haiderer and his daughters with his late wife Gail: Dr. Elizabeth (Adam Wolverton) Haiderer and Rachel (Andrew) Strauss and their son Thomas. Joanne is preceded in death by her son David (Ann) Haiderer who passed away on September 29, 2024, and his late wife Laura, and survived by his son Eric Haiderer and his daughter with Laura, Ashley (Amos) Baugher and their daughter Natalie. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Ernie, and Jim, and two sisters, Doris, and Joyce, who was Joanne’s twin.
Funeral services are planned at Peace Lutheran Church in Saginaw, MI, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Rev. Erik R. Schmidt will officiate. Visitation starts at 10:00 before service and luncheon will be provided after the service. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church.
