Joanne G. Johnson, 91, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025 surrounded by family.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at St. Peter Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:30am. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, St. Peter.
Joanne was born on April 3, 1934 to Marvin and Irene Dranttel. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Richard B. Johnson on August 29, 1953. She helped on the farm in all aspects, as well as working at the St. Peter Community Hospital as a cook. Joanne was active helping in 4H with her kids, the Holsten Association, the Nicollet County Fair Board, and the Pocahontas. She enjoyed sewing and cross stitch, baking, flower gardening, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
Joanne was very proud of her family and is survived by sons: David (Jan), Robert "Shorty", Edward (Kris), and Bruce (Barbara); Grandchildren: Bill (Stacey), Cyndi (Jordan), Samantha (Bill), Emily (Ryan), Madalyn, Christopher (Jessica), Molly (Ian), and Jameson "JD" (Brittany); 14 Great-Grandchildren; special friend: Warner Stoffel; sister Nancy (Ron) Fierst; and sister-in-law Carol Dranttel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2013; granddaughters: Lora and Sara; brother John "Butch" Dranttel; and her parents.
