Joanne Louise Litwin

Joanne Louise Litwin, age 87, of Toledo, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born December 10, 1937, in Toledo, OH, to Louis and Irene (Karpinski) Anderson. Joanne graduated from Holland High School and worked at one time as a sales associate at the LaSalle's Department Store in downtown Toledo, but her true passion was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and home maker. Joanne loved cooking and baking for her family and friends who affectionately knew her as "Matka" - no one ever left her home hungry. She was also a shrewd shopper who couldn't pass up a sale. Devout in her Catholic faith, Joanne was a longtime parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church and actively involved as a member and past president of the Altar Rosary Society, a Eucharistic Minister, Co-Chairperson of the Church festival for many years with her husband, Mike, and others, and baker of countless placki for church bake sales and festivals.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Mike Litwin, in 2018; sisters, Rose Wylie, Irene Anderson, and Carolyn Krispen; brothers, Louis, John, Tom, Donald, Jim, and Richard Anderson; and son-in-law, Mike Light. She is survived by her children, Ken (Sharon) Litwin, Kathy Light, and Jim (Glena) Litwin; grandchildren, Kevin Hollo, Scott (Jaclyn) Hollo, Michelle Litwin (Billy Bartja), Nicole Lowe (Eric Kraemer), and Ben Litwin (Cassidy Behnfeldt); great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kaylee, Parker, Kaiya, Holden, and Billy; and sister, Helen (Gary) Stanton.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 22, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., where members of the Regina Coeli Altar Rosary Society will lead a rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin Monday at 9:30 a.m., in the funeral home, and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
