Joao Luis Raposo

Joao Luis Raposo, 62, of Fall River, passed away at home on August 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

    He was the beloved husband of Ana Paula (Medeiros) Raposo.

    Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Joao and Alda (Corvelo) Raposo.

    Prior to his retirement, Joao worked for most of his career as a machine operator at American Dryer and also worked as a painter. He was an avid soccer fan who especially enjoyed watching his favorite team, Benfica. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

    Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Vera Jacob, Paula Alexandra Harrington, and Nathan Raposo. He is also survived by his siblings, Dinarte, Zelia, Emanuel, Luisa, Maria, Patricia, Natasha, Paulinha, and Lucy; his grandchildren, Anthony, Ethan, Mason, Caiden, Tyler, Travis, Jayani, Xander, and Willow; and his great-granddaughter, Scarlett. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Carlos, and his granddaughter Allysen.

    A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Oliveira Funeral Home at 215 Columbia St. in Fall River from 5 to 8 p.m. His funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by prayers in the funeral home and burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
