Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, 11, of Gainesville, TX passed away on February 8, 2025, at Medical City of Dallas with her family by her side. Funeral mass will be held on February 19, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gainesville with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. Rosary service will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville with visitation to follow.
Jocelynn was born in Gainesville, TX on June 17,2013 to Ernesto Rojo and Marbella Carranza. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, niece and friend to everyone. She loved to dance and sing. Played the French Horn. She made TikTok Videos, love to do the latest trends. She was always active, loved swimming and doing cartwheels. Movie nights Fridays where special time with the Family. She loved when her grandma took her to get her nails done.
She is survived by her parents Ernesto Rojo and Marbella Carranza; siblings Leslie Morales, Junior Morales, Matthew Rojo, Alonzo Rojo, Jose Maria Arriaga, Jose Martin Rojo, Ernesto Rojo; grandparents Angelica Carranza, Raul Carranza, Jose Martin Rojo, Emma Rodriguez; aunts and uncles Raul Carranza, Juan Carranza, Eulalio Carranza, Luis Carranza, Cristian Carranza, Valeria Carranza, Martha Carranza, Elias Rojo.

I am truly sorry for the loss of your beloved daughter. I didn't know her as I live in Virginia, but her story touched my heart. There is nothing that I or anyone else can say that will lessen your pain at this time. I too lost a beloved nephew at an early age this way and I still struggle to understand why it happened. There are no words for when a parent loses their child, when siblings lose their beloved sister, when a child loses their closest friend. This is truly a tragedy and I am so deeply sorry. Although I never had the chance to meet your daughter, sister, or friend- I am certain I would've loved her. From what I've seen, Jocelynn's smile was by far the brightest I've ever encountered. Although she is no longer here physically, she will be watching over you- I am sure of it. Her smile and kind heart will be remembered as a source of light and love. Que así el mundo la recuerde que era una niña que quiso y año mucho a sus padres que no sabía la manera de defenderlos. Ella fue una héroe. Una lastima que los de la escuela que sabían que es lo que estaba ocurriendo no hicieron nada y la dejaron sola en la batalla de defender a sus padres. Siento un coraje que no tomaron en cuenta que era una niña y no hicieron absolutamente nada para que ella no estuviera sufriendo con la presión de estos otros niños que no están educados por sus padres que todos somos iguales. Que todos tenemos derechos a la vida. Es simple un papel que dice en que país nacimos, pero en los ojos de Dios somos todos iguales. Lo siento mucho mucho; pero espero que con lo que paso hagan cambias en las escuelas y en las hogares de estos ni´nos que no estan bien educados.

I read her story on CNN and I want to say how very sorry I am that she was bullied. This is heartbreaking.
My granddaughter was bullied too and she didn´t want to live anymore. She was able to get help through therapy. I pray and hope that Jocelyn´s life and story helps other bullied children.

I am extremely so sorry for your loss of your child, I can relate I had lost my son in that horrific state that you live in to suicide in front of an 18-wheeler truck, I hate to tell you but your life will change forever and the grief does not go away because I'm living with the grief of 3 years and it doesn't get any better. My heart goes out to you there's nothing worse and more painful then losing a child. No one can imagine, you think you can but you can't the heart has a hole in it with the loss of Jocelynn. Try to do something positive with your loss and make a legacy for Jocelynn to prevent bullying in the schools and help other children to prevent suicide. Our children today feel lost especially after covid there's so many adolescents that have committed suicide. I've been grieving so long that I have to create a legacy for my son. God bless you and your family and I'm so sorry, because I know the pain that you feel. This whole country is so divided and you're in one of the worst states. Because I live there and I saw and that's how I lost my son. I no longer live there. God bless you and your family.
