Jodean White Alexander, 92, of Tamassee, South Carolina, passed away on July 28, 2025. A native and lifelong resident of the Cheohee Valley Community, Mrs. Alexander was the beloved wife of the late Marvin "Quimby" Alexander. She was a devoted and faithful member of Cheohee Baptist Church, where she spent many years pouring her heart into caring for the children and youth. One of her greatest joys was preparing breakfast for the youth of the church and the wider community-serving with love, and creating a space where everyone felt welcomed and cared for. Jodean loved life, and she loved people. Her kindness was most often expressed through time spent visiting with others and through the meals she lovingly prepared. She was especially known for her cakes-each one a labor of love and a symbol of her generosity. She found peace and beauty in tending her flower garden and took pride in the blooms that brightened her yard and spirit. A proud and active member of the Eastern Star, she lived a life rooted in faith, service, and unwavering love for those around her. Mrs. Alexander is survived by her daughter: Ann Hill (Andrew) of Salem, SC; her son: Don Alexander (Garnette) of Barnwell, SC; daughter-in-law: Bonnie Alexander (Rev. John Jones); grandchildren: Darlene Hill, Doug Lee, Wayne Hill, Michelle Roach (Greg), Becky Medlin (David), Angela Alexander Whitmire, Daniel Alexander (Taylor), and Wil Alexander (Carson); great-grandchildren, Colby Roach (Jessica), Scottie Lee, Matthew Medlin, Isabella Whitmire, Tyler Price, Nick Hill, Ashlyn Hill, Jared Hill, Mary Chilton Alexander, Margaret Alexander, Agnes Alexander and Philip Alexander; and siblings: Martha Ann White, Naomi W. Padgett (Wayde) and George Archie White. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Milton Alexander of Tamassee, SC; siblings: Jimmy Ray White, Horace White (Sarah), Myrtle White Smith "Pat" (Wilburn), Sammy White, Candler Moody, Lon Moody, Eloise M. Golden, Louise W. Heath and Alice White; and sister-in-law: Elaine White Funeral services will be held at Cheohee Baptist Church, 829 Cheohee Valley Rd, Tamassee, SC 29686 on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at The Alexander Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, prior to the service. Flowers are accepted. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cheohee Baptist Church PO Box 4, Tamassee, SC 29686, or The Alexander Cemetery Fund, at Oconee Federal Savings and Loan, Walhalla SC.
