Jodi Ann Spear

Jodi Ann Spear, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 24, 2025. She was 56 years old.

Born on January 2, 1969, to Joseph and Peggy Spear, Jodi grew up in Mount Vernon, New York, alongside her younger brother, Philip Spear. There, she formed lifelong friendships that endured through the years-cherished relationships that were a testament to her warm spirit and genuine heart.

In her adult years, Jodi made her home in Yonkers and New Rochelle, New York, where she devoted herself to the things she loved most. A proud "Dog Mom", Jodi adored her fur babies Bubbles, Coco, and Missy-Lu. She was a familiar and welcome presence at local dog parks, where she spent countless joyful hours with friends and their fur babies. Her passion for dogs extended far beyond her own pets-she generously volunteered her time and resources to dog shelters and rescue organizations, making a meaningful difference in the lives of countless animals.

For many years, Jodi served the City School District of New Rochelle as a bus aide, where she lovingly cared for young children on their daily journeys to and from school. The children she tended to would often call out, "We love you, Miss Jodi!"-a simple phrase that captured the profound impact she had on their young lives. Her patience, kindness, and nurturing presence made each child feel safe and valued.

Jodi is survived by her mother, Peggy Spear; her brother, Philip Spear, and his wife, Jennifer; her nephews, Jonathan (her beloved Godson) and Caleb; her uncle, Dennis Solano, and aunt, Judy Solano; her cousin and Godmother, Donna Premuto; and countless cousins, extended family members, and friends whose lives were immeasurably brightened by her presence.

Jodi will be remembered for her boundless compassion, her infectious warmth, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved-both human and animal alike. She possessed a rare gift for making everyone feel seen and appreciated, and her legacy of kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were blessed to have had her in their lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held December 20th at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Church, 2111 Boston Post Road, Larchmont, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jodi's memory to Pibbles & More Animal Rescue, Inc. (PMAR) or the Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research.
