Jodie Black Obituary

Jodie Black, 72, of Pittsburgh, (formerly of Johnstown), passed away Sept. 15, 2021 with her children by her side; beloved daughter of the late Betty (Glosser) and Leonard Black; survived by her sister, Susan Eiseman (Stevie); children Michael Lichtenstein (Anjali), Jamie Lichtenstein (John Pawling); and grandsons, Benjamin, Nikhil, John and Avinash; nieces; nephews; many friends; and her beloved, dog Tiger. Jodie graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School, Johnstown, and then attended Monticello Junior College, earning her associate's degree in sociology. She later returned to school for medical training to work in health care. Jodie was a very kind and generous spirit and loved to help others. She diligently knitted and donated many hats to children in need from the community. She had a dry sense of humor, loved her hometown sports teams, was a great friend to many and loved her family, especially her grandsons whom she adored. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at D'ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY LTD., Lawrenceville. Due to covid-19 restrictions, only close friends and family may attend. A zoom option will be available for those who wish to attend remotely. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Animal Friends. www.dalessandroltd.com.line

Jamie, Michael and family; I am so sorry in the loss of your mom. She was a very nice person, I enjoyed joking with her at work when we both worked as medical assistants. Renee .
