Jody Marie Anderson, age 65, of Albert Lea, passed away peacefully in her home on February 16, 2025.
Born on January 13, 1960, in Albert Lea, Jody was the beloved daughter of the late Roland “Rollie” Somnis and Patricia (Weisner) Somnis and spent her early years attending Alden-Conger public schools.
Jody embarked on a fulfilling career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the former Board and Care Nursing Facility and later at St. John's Lutheran Community, where she spent many years caring for residents with compassion and kindness. Her deep commitment to those in her care spoke volumes of her generous nature.
Though Jody was often reserved, she had an undeniable talent for finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was sharing delicious homemade banana bread or leaving her loved ones with thoughtful gifts, she always found a way to spread warmth and love. Her loyalty and generosity made her a cherished presence in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. A lover of cats, Jody found joy in the companionship of her furry friends, whom she doted on throughout her life.
Those left to cherish Jody’s memory include her two sons, Jamie (Steph) and Tony Anderson; grandchildren, Gavin, Hunter, and Aaron Anderson; three brothers, Michael (Amanda) Somnis, Robert (Cheryl) Somnis, and Kevin (Julieta) Somnis. Jody was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Patricia Somnis.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be hosted by Jody’s family on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00PM, at 610 Bridge Ave., Albert Lea.
