Jody David Hechtman

Jody David Hechtman was born December 12, 1948 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on September 22, 2025 in Encino, California. He attended Hillcrest High School and University of Southern California. He also studied Environmental Law in Southern California. Jody lived a full life despite his restrictions from Polio which he refused to get in his way. He loved sports, especially announcers Jim Healy, Vin Scully, and Chic Hearn. He was an avid fan of the Dodgers, Lakers, USC football, and YouTube. He always had an opinion on the GOAT, Wilt Chamberlain being his favorite, and had many stories to tell. He loved to travel via specialized van which he wore out, and was a Hearst Castle, San Louis Obispo aficionado. Jody is and always will be the GOAT. He shared thoughts and opinions on topical subjects, politics, and was clear on what he saw matters. He was the kindest, sweetest, most caring, do anything, give you the shirt off his back guy. Forever a smile on his face, even in the hospital. He was amazing and will be missed forever. Jody is survived by his life partner Janice Buzby; his sister Abby and her grown children, Gavin (wife Tracy), Ilysa, Ian, and Griffin, grand nephews Luke and Isaac, parents Ruth and Izzy Hechtman who both preceded him in death.
