Jody Christopher Warne

Jody Christopher Warne, 50, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, doing what he loved, racing.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends immediately following the service.
Jody was born August 5, 1972, in Northwood, North Dakota, the son of Larry and Julia "Judy" (McMahon) Warne.
He grew up in Larimore, North Dakota, moving to Grand Forks North Dakota where he lived many years. In 2009, Jody moved to Ottawa where he has made his home.
He was a truck driver owning and operating his own truck for several years.
Jody always loved being with family and friends and was known for cooking for friends at the moto track and his home. He worked hard and played even harder. In 1995, Jody began racing and is a decorated racer. He loved being in the Missouri State Motocross Racing Series and Arenacross, where he raced in many locations. He also enjoyed golfing and NASCAR.
He was preceded in death by his father Larry Warne.
Survivors include two sons, Justin Ludke of Bismarck, North Dakota, and Jody Bergland of Grand Forks, North Dakota; mother Judy Warne of Ottawa; sister Kari Orender of Edgerton, Kansas; maternal grandmother Mary McMahon of Ottawa; and three grandchildren.
