After an extended time of illness, Joe Melvin Beeson met his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face on March 4, 2025. Joe was born in Meridian, MS, on September 26,1943 to Joe Melvin Beeson and Bessie James Scarborough Beeson.
Joe was a printer for Brown Printing Company and Southern Horseman Printing Company in Meridian. He also served with the Airforce Reserves as a photographer. He married the love of his life, Stella Inez Waddell Beeson, in 1966. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Meridian, MS until a move to Brandon, MS, where he became a member of Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl.
Joe, known as “Pappy” to his grandchildren and many friends, was quiet and reserved but loved and adored by all who knew him. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and his laugh was contagious. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, camping, photography, and building model planes. He enjoyed flying and being part of a hot air balloon chase crew for Dr. George Shannon. He loved his wife and his two daughters well. He was the best girl dad! After retirement and the death of his wife, he moved in with his youngest daughter Brandi and his son-in-law Matthew.
Joe was humble and quiet but loved the Lord and was always very quick to point his family and friends to Christ. He had an unwavering faith in God’s sovereignty and faithfulness.
He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, Joe Melvin & Bessie James Scarborough Beeson; his beloved wife of 42 years, Stella Inez Waddell Beeson; and his brother, David Bill Beeson. He leaves behind his two daughters, Heather Beeson Campbell (Greg) of Como and Brandi Beeson Smith (Matthew) of Brandon, his sister Jo Carol Beeson Brown of Meridian, 5 grandchildren: Lane, Sidney, & Jace Campbell and Jeremiah & Stella Kate Smith, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
The family would like to extend deepest gratitude to the wonderful staffs at St. Dominic Hospital, Madison Health and Rehab, Highland Home, and Pax Hospice for their kindness and exceptional care during Mr. Beeson’s illness.
