Joe Daniel Beith
August 14, 1938 – July 14, 2025
Joe Daniel Beith, a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, and man of quiet strength and wisdom, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, in Carrollton, Texas. He was 86.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 14, 1938, to Ella Mae (Smith) and Patrick Henry Beith, Joe spent his formative years in a city rich with music, grit, and Southern charm - qualities that shaped the man he became. A proud graduate of Central High School, Joe worked tirelessly to put himself through Memphis State University, earning a bachelor's degree in history and psychology - a fitting reflection of his deep curiosity and insight into both the past and the people around him.
Joe served six honorable years in the U.S. Army Reserves, instilling in him a lifelong sense of discipline, humility, and service.
In the early 1960s, a new opportunity brought Joe to Dallas, Texas - a city that would become his home and the backdrop of a long, successful career in corporate insurance and employee benefits. Known for his integrity, reliability, and calm under pressure, Joe earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. It was in Dallas that he formed a lifelong friendship and business partnership with Charles E. Belcher. Together, they launched IMS Benefits - a firm known for its excellence and personal touch - which later merged with GBE&W Benefits. Their partnership was more than professional; it was a bond rooted in loyalty, laughter, and mutual respect.
Joe's true joy, however, came not from business success but from his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Elle Beith, who stood by his side with grace and devotion. He was a proud and supportive father to his son, Jon Beith, and embraced his role as stepfather to Dylan Hoey (wife Bethany Andrews Hoey), Taylor Hoey, and Quincy Hunt (husband Chris Hunt). He found deep joy in his grandchildren: Madeline Graham, Neil Graham, Sloan Hoey, Lux Hoey, and Quinn Hoey - each of whom lit up his heart in their own way.
Joe was a man of few words, but when he spoke, people listened. He lived his life with kindness, quiet strength, and a gentle wit. Whether offering a well-timed word of encouragement or sharing a story from the past, Joe made others feel seen and heard. His presence brought steadiness to every room, and his absence will be deeply felt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Mae and Patrick Henry Beith, and is now reunited with them in eternal peace.
