Joe Boehms Obituary

Joe Frank Boehms, of Williamsport, Tennessee, passed away on October 1, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on November 12, 1936, in Jones Valley, Tennessee, he was the beloved son of the late James Herschel Boehms and Mary Jane Nichols Boehms. After his time in the military, Joe pursued his academic passions, earning a bachelor's degree in engineering from UT. Armed with his education and work ethic, Joe embarked on a successful career as an engineer with TVA for 35 years and then with Natchez Trace EPA for 7 years, until retirement. Joe was a man with a heart as big as his smile and a personality that could light up a room. Joe lived by the motto that there was no such thing as a stranger-only friends he hadn't met yet. His favorite place to be, was a crowded waiting room, full of strangers to conversate with. Above all, Joe loved his family dearly. Joe shared his life with his beloved wife Mattie. Their marriage was a remarkable journey of love, partnership and unwavering support. Together, they built a family, and a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all adored their Pa. Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Mattie Pearl Puckett Boehms, of Williamsport, Tennessee and their sons, Dennis (Tammy) Boehms of Brentwood, Tennessee and Henry (Lisa) Boehms of Mississippi. Siblings, Beatrice (Neil) Jobe and Jim Boehms. He was a proud grandfather to Richard (Lindsay Newsom) Boehms and Lauren (Jeremy) Gregory along with step grandchildren Andrew (Kacy) Peel, Emily (Jordy) Luke and step great grandchildren, Maddie, Taylor, Jack, Junior, and he adored his furry companion "Gunner". In addition to his parents Joe is preceded in death by his siblings, sister, Evelyn Ruth Boehms Norton, sister, Lanelle Boehms Dodson, sister, Wilma Boehms Cake, sister, Jane Boehms Smith and brother Jeff Henry Boehms. Joe's life was one of purpose and impact, and his memory will forever live in their hearts.

I am sorry to learn of Joe passing. I have prayed for comfort for his wife and family and I know he is in Heaven today with no pain or suffering. He always represented his savior, his wife, his family, and the company he worked for with the best moral standards. He was a good friend and fellow worker both when he worked for TVA in Mississippi and when he was at the City of Okolona Electric Department and at Natchez Trace EPA. Ronny Rowland retired GM at Prentiss County Electric Power Association in Booneville.

I am so sad to see that the world has lost Joe. What a fine man he was!! His family was equally fine.
I consider it such a blessing to have known all of them. I have no doubt he is with the Lord and we will see him again. Please know I will be praying for you Mattie to have peace and comfort oy our Lord can give. Henry you have always been special to me. Mike loved all of you and I will never forget the Boehms family´s kindness to me and my children when Mike passed away. Thank you for being the most genuine people I have ever known.
