Joe C. Corn, Sr., 80, a resident of Elyria for the past 59 years passed away June 21, 2024 following a brief illness. He was born December 25, 1943 in Belvidere, Tennessee.Joe was a United States Army veteran, serving two years during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged and moved to Elyria. He attended Lorain County Community College and worked at General Motors for 59 years many of those as a UAW Rep and was looking forward to retirement. Joe was also an active member of the Elyria American Legion Post 12 and was a member of Church on the Northcoast.
Mr. Corn is survived by his son, Joe C (LeAnne) Corn, Jr. Akron, Ohio and daughter Rosalind (Calvin) Burnett of Nolensville, Tennessee; four grandchildren; Isaiah, Abraham, Aubrey and Laila; sister, Francis Corn of Winchester, Tennessee and brother, Donald Corn of Nashville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Mosby) Corn, parents, William and Alberta Corn; brothers, Floyd, Howard, Collier, Walter Corn; and sisters, Doris Corn-Rogers and Lula Mae Burnett.
Family and friends may visit at Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N Ridge Rd Elyria, Ohio on Wednesday June 26th from 5:0pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will be Thursday June 27th at 12:15 pm, with full military honors, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
