Joe Ross Driskell

Joe Ross Driskell, age 73, of Lovelady passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Hospice in the Pines in Lufkin. Joe was born September 5, 1950 in Crockett to parents, Joe Frank Driskell and Bettie Arnold Driskell. He worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 20 years as the Assistant Warden at the Eastham and Ferguson Units before retiring, and also for the Corrections Corps of America for 10 years. Joe was past Master of the Lovelady Masonic Lodge #539, where he has endowed membership. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and hunter, who loved his cows and horses.
Joe is survived by wife of 46 years, Candy Driskell of Lovelady; son, Jason Driskell and wife, Brandi of Jacksonville; grandsons, Josh West and wife, Megan of Levelland, Sean Driskell of Jacksonville; 3 great-grandsons; sister, Becky Burrow and husband, Shawn of Rogers, AR; brother-in-law, Anthony Stanley and wife, Kathleen of Hempstead; sister-in-law, Lisa Springer of Brenham; numerous other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Joe Frank and Bettie Driskell.
