Joe Leonard Elrod, a cherished son, brother, father, and friend, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Greenwood, South Carolina, at the age of 63. Born on June 10, 1962, in Anderson, South Carolina, Joe lived a life marked by love, courage, and adventure.
As a dedicated carpenter, Joe crafted not only beautiful homes but also built lasting relationships with those he worked alongside. His craftsmanship was a reflection of his personality—loving, adventurous, and courageous. He embraced life with a heart full of passion, whether he was working on a project or embarking on a new journey.
Joe's interests spanned from fishing to motorcycles, both of which provided him endless joy and opportunities for adventure. He could often be found by the water, casting a line or riding with friends on beautiful days. These moments encapsulated his spirit and zest for life.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Mary Ruth Christopher; stepfather, David Stephen Christopher; and his three sons: Matt Elrod, Stephen Elrod and Liam Elrod. In addition to his immediate family, Joe leaves behind his brothers, John Elrod and Joe Elrod; and his sisters, Katie Moon (Mark) and Savannah Christopher (Tommy).
