Joe Trelon Glover, age 85, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 15th. He was born on January 12, 1940, in Star City, and was the son of the late Retha Owen Glover and Rev. Veo Glover. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rev. Samuel Lavoy Glover and Veon O. Glover; and his son, Michael Dalon Glover.
Mr. Glover dedicated 41 years of service to the International Paper Mill in Pine Bluff, where he worked in technical services until his retirement. Following his retirement, he established a small engine repair service, quickly earning a reputation as the person everyone could count on to fix anything. People from near and far knew that if something needed repairing, Joe was the one to call.
He was also a passionate collector of Indian artifacts. Joe took pride in sharing his museum with scout groups, school groups, and many others who visited. His extensive collection included arrowheads, ax and hatchet heads, pipes, bowls, spoons, pottery, and a variety of other implements, most of which he had personally discovered.
Joe was a devoted member of First Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church. He served in many capacities, including as Sunday School teacher, BTC teacher, secretary/treasurer of the Men's Brotherhood, and on various committees while his health allowed.
Joe attended Star City High School before his family moved to Dimple, Texas, where he graduated from Dimple High School and later from Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas. He also served in the United States Army for two years, achieving the rank of Specialist 4 before being honorably discharged.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Cathy Glover; one son, John "Randy" Scott (Roxanne) of Batesville; two daughters, Michelle Spangler (Guy) of McKinney, Texas, and Stacie Carroll; nine grandchildren: Evan Glover (Emily), Nate Glover, Jadzia Allman (Wade), Makayla Bates, Hannah Scott, Kaelyn Scott, Colton Scott, Chevy Carroll, and Lexi Carroll; and one great-granddaughter, Beru Allman.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, September 22, 2025 at First Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Rev. Robert Cossey will officiate. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery near Star City. Visitation will be Monday, 9:00 AM until funeral time.
