Joe Hernandez Jr. (1969-2025)

Joe Hernadez Jr, 55, of San Antonio, TX, passed away peacefully in his home from heart and kidney complications.

He was born in San Antonio in 1969 to Joe and Elva Hernandez. Joe Hernandez Jr. attended West Campus High School before pursuing a career in the retail industry. He worked at Lowe's as a store manager for 10 years. Joe loved working for the retail service and decided to follow in his father's footsteps and work for HEB. While at HEB, he was an IST and was responsible for the development of HEB store leaders. In that role, Joe was knowledgeable and dedicated. He created more than leaders; he created bonds and friendships that would last beyond their training experience. Joe thrived on creating positive work morale; he loved working alongside his partners, and his partners loved him.

When not at work, Joe was his nephew and niece's biggest fan. He loved attending every cheer competition and basketball game. He found such delight in being an uncle and father. Joe treasured family time; he enjoyed planning family vacations. Joe has been to Disney World over 25 times. He lived for life experiences, and family time brought him the greatest joy.

Joe is preceded in death by his younger brother, Brian Lee Hernandez.

Joe is loved and will be greatly missed by his only son, Christopher Hernandez; Siblings, Rene Hernandez, Yvette Arizpe, Kimberly Rodriguez; Nephews, Brian Hernandez Jr, Keano Arizpe, Justine Hernandez, Rene Hernandez Jr., Gaven Arizpe, Jaun Hernandez, Cristel Hernandez. Carley Rodriguez, Carsten Rodriguez, Carmella Rodriguez. Great Niece, Aubrianna Hernandez Rory Arizpe. Brother-in-law: Jerry Arizpe, Carlos Rodriguez. Sister-in-law, Danielle Cruz
