Joe Edwin "Eddy" Holmes

Joe Edwin (Eddy) Holmes, 92, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, in Lexington, TN. He was the former owner of Holmes Farm Supply, retiring in 1998. Since 1998, he was engaged in maintaining the family farm and woodworking. He is survived by two sons, Joe Anthony (Tony) Holmes (Elizabeth) and Robert Stanley (Stan) Holmes (Renah), five grandchildren, Kurt Anthony Holmes (Amanda), Ashley Renah Stallings, Grace Elizabeth Carter (Trey), Leah Camille Russell (Ryan) and Robert V. Holmes, a sister, Mary Charlotte Sullivan, sister-in-law, Carolyn Holmes, sister-in-law, Susie Crook Bunch, brother-in-law, Winfield (Dena) Crook. Eddy also had seven great-grandchildren, Hudson Anthony Stallings, Hattie Renah Stallings, Claire Elizabeth Carter, Abby Caroline Carter, James Edward Russell, Nolan Lewis Russell and Hazel Linda Russell. He was preceded in death by his spouse of 61 years, Patricia Crook Holmes, his parents, Joe V. and Trula Mae Holmes , a brother, William Essary "Billy" Holmes, brother-in-law, Dr. Jerry Sullivan, and brother-in-law, Porter Bunch. Funeral Services will be on Monday, November 3 at 11 am at Reed's Chapel with burial to follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 – 8 pm and Monday from 9 – 10:30 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to the First United Methodist Church Food Pantry at 27 East Church St. Lexington, TN 38351.
