East Bend – Joe Kelly Hutchens, 67, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was born May 15, 1957, in Forsyth County to the late Henry Kelly "H.K." Hutchens and Betty Martin Hutchens. Joe retired from Starmount High School in 2009. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, and always loved going fishing. His pride and joy were his wife, girls, and also his dog, Allie. He is survived by his wife, Mitzi Branon Hutchens; daughters, Taylor Hutchens (Brian "Rocky" Reeves), Cory Hutchens (Lakenn Hutchens); sister, Beckie Hobson.
His funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2025 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by Eddie Matthews, B.W. Holt, and Scott Carter. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m., Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Memorials can be made to Starmount Athletics c/o Football Team, 2516 Longtown Road, Boonville, NC 27011 or to Yadkin County Animal Shelter, 1027 Speaks St., Yadkinville, NC 27055.
